I think your Skin Repair Moisturiser is the best I have ever used on my face, I've always had combination skin and have never been able to find a moisturiser that suited my skin without being too light or too greasy until now! Katie Hunt

The majority of women are thought to have combination skin and most of us, at some stage in our lives, will experience it. It occurs when the skin is out of balance, with some areas feeling dry and others more oily. Typically, someone with combination skin has normal skin on their cheeks which can sometimes feel a little dry, especially in the winter months, and an oilier T-zone which can be prone to breakouts. Hormonal breakouts are also common for combination skin.

Our skincare advice

Following a daily skincare routine of cleanse, tone and moisturise, morning and nighttime, will ensure skin stays clean, refreshed and hydrated and can help balance the skin.

  • Use a gentle cleanser such as our Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. to remove daily grime and make up and help keep skin clean without stripping. It contains cocoa butter and chamomile to help dry areas and eucalyptus and rosemary to purify oilier areas. Massage onto your face in circular movements to encourage lymphatic drainage, which will help eliminate toxins and help clear your oiler T-zone from within.
  • Our Instant Boost Skin Tonic gently refreshes your skin and is packed with rehydrating organic aloe vera. A quick spritz with this tonic throughout the day can help boost moisture levels and keep any shine appearing on oilier T-zones to a minimum.
  • Choose a lighter moisturiser formulated for normal/combination skin (see our Skin Repair Moisturiser Normal/combination). Even if your skin is oily in places, it still needs moisturising. Apply to drier areas of skin to start with, then lightly sweep in towards the T-zone. You can use the same daytime moisturiser at night, or you can substitute your nighttime moisturiser with a facial oil. Massage with certain plant oils last thing at night can help regulate sebum production in oilier areas of skin and lead to a more balanced, controlled complexion. The plant oil blend in our Superskin Concentrate is very effective for this.
  • Exfoliating twice a week can help decongest and unblock pores in oilier T-zones and buff away dead skin cells that can accumulate in dry areas. Our Gentle Face Exfoliator contains sweet almond oil which helps regulate the skin's moisture levels and is ideal to use before applying a treatment mask.
  • A cleansing and purifying mask twice a week can help prevent breakouts by drawing out impurities. Apply to just your T-zone if your cheeks are feeling particularly dry. Our Deep Cleansing Mask contains green clay, which helps balance the skin's natural oils, along with manuka honey and propolis which offer antibacterial and protective benefits.
