Superskin is probably the best moisturiser I have ever used. I love its texture and aroma and it's very effective on problem dry patches and my sensitive skin. I like the simplicity of having one product that covers all needs. Susan Taylor
From time to time everyone can suffer with dry skin, especially if they work in dehydrating environment or have been exposed to extreme weather. Although it's a common skin complaint, dry skin can feel tight, uncomfortable and painful for the sufferer, but with a little care and attention it can certainly be improved.
Our skincare advice
- Use a rich moisturiser made with natural plant oils twice a day (adding a little extra when needed) to keep skin feeling comfortable and soft. Try Skin Repair Moisturiser Dry/sensitive, which is rich in soothing borage and avocado oils, or if your skin is very easily irritated or needs a moisturising boost, try our fragrance-free Superskin Moisturiser, with its high-level blend of omega-3 and GLA combined with precious plant oils, to leave skin looking and feeling soft and smooth.
- Eating a diet rich in fish or taking a fish oil supplement will ensure your body is getting the good fats it needs and in turn can help ease dry skin.
- If you spend a lot of time in a dehydrating environment, such as an air-conditioned or heated office or on an aircraft, make sure you drink lots of water to stay hydrated. It may also help to keep bowls of water on your desk or in your bedroom at night, or buy a small humidifier, to ensure the air is moist rather than dry.
- Avoid using very hot water when showering or bathing, as this can further aggravate dry skin.
- To give dry skin an extra boost, apply a thick layer of Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask and leave the moisturising borage oil and comfrey to work their magic for 10 to 15 minutes. The rich cream sinks into any very dry areas of skin and is very soothing – making it the perfect solution if you're sensitive and prone to redness.
